This petition is to create awareness of animal cruelty and to be able to set up one day a year where we can help abused and neglected animals across the United Kingdom, by raising money in much the same way as is done with children in need, animals have no voice and we are the only ones who can speak for them. Too many animals are left in situations where they are abused, starved, beaten and left to die, this is unacceptable and unneccersary. Daily we hear of dogs made to fight to gain humans money, this is immoral and ethically wrong. There are thousands of stray animals walking our streets, because people see them as disposable and expensive, this is about educating people about animal welfare and making sure people know what they are taking on, and that animals like humans do become ill or have accidents and that it will cost money to make them better As humans we have a fundamental right to live with dignity and this too applies to animals also. Anyone who has an ounce of compassion and loves their pets with all their heart, will know how rewarding caring for them can be, and that their time spent with their pets is rewarded tenfold, with unconditional love and mutual respect. I am hoping to send this petition off to the prime minister in the hope that he will listen. All the proceeds of this day would be split between animal charities.
It’s been proven both in the United States and United Kingdom that murderers, rapists and paedophiles have started their sick ways with hurting animals. The powers that be need to send out a clear message that animal suffering will not be tolerated and people will face a tough punishment. There needs to be a deterrent. You save the life of an animal, you could be saving the life of a child.
We need animals to have a day to show them we are human kind after all
