CCTV is essential to protect passengers travelling on commercial flights. The passenger becomes very vulnerable, especially whilst 35,000 feet in air. The intention of this petition is to put forth a request for a reliable CCTV system to be a mandatory, and the responsibility of the airline to implement this system for consumer safety. The system should be incorporated in all commercial aircraft flight cabins and galleys. The Captain and first officer should operate this system; this will prevent any manipulation of data by any other flight staff. The system should be set at the beginning of the flight for the whole duration, without any interruptions. If we can put enough signatures forward to The Civil Aviation Authority, and the (ATOL) Air Travel Organizers’ License Department, we may be able to win the fight for our safety and protection. It is the responsibility of the airline to protect its customers. Customers have a right to be protected during their travel, as do flight crew. We see in the papers everyday, innocent people have been accused of beating their children, because they are crying, flight attendants have alleged they have been assaulted. Surely this system will reduce the level of bad behavior on board a flight and will be a source of reliable data to use in a court of law. Any offence on board an aircraft is costly to prove your innocence and carries custodial prosecution. I hope you will support my petition. Thank you for taking the time to read it.
