We believe the UK legal system is too lenient on perpetrators of domestic abuse.

All too often, the perpetrators are sentenced to community service, a suspended sentence, or sometimes just a fine. These sentences do not reflect the torment their victims are put through.

We believe the perpetrators should be given a jail term, as well as placed on a programme aimed at reducing the likelihood of them re-offending

I too was a victim, my abusive ex husband was founf guilty of domestic abuse but still treated too leniently by the courts & police, despite him breaching bail conditions & restraining orders. The effects of domestic abuse are a life-long sentence for the victims & their children, yet the abusers can just move on & repeat the cycle again.
