Getting to and from Edge Lane is such a hassle for students. Its a 40 minute walk from town (and thats at speed-walking pace!) Its not even a nice walk! The streets are quite horrible and its not very safe for students to walk all that way. Luckily it not too dark now, but it used to get really dark, really early and be all the more unsafe for us.
Taxis are expensive, as is the bus – and it is not reliable in any case – often the busses won't pass or won't stop.
problem with being so far away from town is that our campus center is right next to Aldham Robarts library. So if we had to hand something in and had lectures, that would mean going to uni, into town, back to uni. It was proposed to change it so that we could hand our things in at Edge Lane, but we can't because we need the library. I'm sure you know how it is, last minute referencing, printing etc – you need the library! If we had a bus it would still be a hassle, but much less so.

Buses are unreliable and expensive for travelling to and from Edge Lane from the city centre, where I live and use other student facilities. Although taxis work out cheaper when split between a group, they often refuse to come to Edge Lane at busy rush hour times for morning and evening lectures.

A student bus service that would run frequently from the city centre to Edge lane would be ideal and make all our lives easier. Myself and I am sure other students would not mind paying something towards it each week either.
    Thanks.

There is a lot of hassle in getting to and from Uni as buses are inconsistent and taxis can take up to an hour to arrive when finishing late. The fact we were not positive of where we would be studying this year at the time of choosing accomodation also made it difficult to prepare for changes.
