As you all must know we are moving towards the new funding and fees regime. Unfortunately because of that some of the courses at London College of Communication are being reviewed for closure in 2013/2014. FdA and BA Interior Design are two of them and as a Course Representative of Year 1 FdA Interior Design I have created this petition which I will present to the Dean on Thursday the 17th of November. If you also don’t want these courses to be closed down then please help by signing the petition.

Thank you.

It would be a massive loss if the university closes interior design courses and many would miss out on the oppertunity of a life time, getting to learn at lcc.

I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, it’s a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, and that enables you to laugh at life’s realities.

It seems like such a shame to close courses such as the FdA and BA Interior Design taught at LCC considering the rarity of such courses in the U.K. and the otherwise complete lack of quality Interior Design courses in London. Moreover, the location of LCC is a crucial advantage for its students that should not be neglected, with the school residing within the artistic hub that is London with its countless museums, galleries and happenings as well as the vibrant, diverse and multi-national environment it provides, fostering creativity and an open-mind.

Furthermore, in an April 2011 news article, it was reported that LCC was considering charging the maximum 9000 pounds annual fee allowed by the new funding and fees regime from the 2012/2013 school year. Surely such a rise in tuition fees, should permit it to continue funding crucial courses such as Interior Design.

This course is an opportunity of a life time for students who want do this course in the future. They should keep it!

  20. Eleanor Holmes UNITED KINGDOM

This course should stay! To make sure all the students get the opportunity to follow their dreams!

  21. Rachel UNITED KINGDOM

I think it should star as stay for people who want to do the course

  22. Sharon UNITED KINGDOM

Part of the reason some of the students chose to study Interior Design at the LCC is because they preferred that campus to the others and because they liked the teachers more. It’s unfair that new students will have to change or go somewhere else when they’re set on going to the LCC.

  23. Steph UNITED KINGDOM

I think it should stay for people who want to do the course

  24. Ryan UNITED KINGDOM

The course should stay, If people want to do the course then the Uni should keep the course running

  25. Carella UNITED KINGDOM

This course should stay, as there is obviously a demand for it! Allow people to do the course, surely money can be saved elsewhere? It’s hard enough for young adults as it is, at least let them study!
