Petition for change of Brighton and Hove Councils Parking Policy regarding vacant bins sites on Lansdowne Street in Hove

Created July 22, 2009 by Kathrin

Brighton and Hove City Council have left a bin site on Lansdowne Street for over a year, restricting the limited parking on the street.

They also continue to issue and reinforce parking fines for any vehicle that partially parked within the space, despite the fact that it is not affecting the flow of traffic, emergency vehicles or residents in the street. It is a purely money-making tactic – charge council tax for refuse collection (and don't replace the missing bins) and charge parking fines for cars who use the space for it's original function – a parking space. Join this petition to campaign either for a replacement bin or for the Council to stop penalising residents and return the space to a parking bay.
