2021-03-23 20:16:20 I feel the volume of traffic on this road will intensify & result in more impatience & accidents. When I arrived in the UK I was advised to take the M74 & cut across from Penrith when I travelled from West Lothian to Derbyshire because the A1 was not the best road to travel on & I must admit it's not great when it becomes single lane. Surely the road between London & Edinburgh, the two capitals, should be a motorway.

2014-09-19 08:55:58 Absolutely disgraceful that the M1 from London is not a motorway type road all the way to Edinburgh- its a 3 lane motorway to North Yorkshire, dual to Newcastle and then a few miles north of Newcastle it's a single lane road just about all the way to Edinburgh
