2012-05-18 08:22:01 When every request for building and alterations within the National Park comes with restrictions and condtions attached, in order to presrerve the unique character of our landscape, how can the LDNPA approve a structure as alien and intrusive as a wind turbine at Ulcat Row? If approved, it would make a mockery of planning regulations, and provide precedent for a raft of similar proposals to be approved anywhere in the National Park. Why not a wind farm on the summit of Skiddaw, while we are about it?

2012-05-06 18:34:31 We live in Matterdale End and are currently renovating an old property. We have been subject to (and quite rightly so) very stringent planning restrictions ie. type of windows, even colour of outside paintwork. So for the Lake District National Park Authority to allow 32.4m wind turbine directly opposite Matterdale End would seem to be completely contradictory in regard to safeguarding the appearance of the area. We might as well all paint our doors bright pink if the LDNPA have so little regard for the beautiful landscape in their care. .
