As with the bulk of the authorities across the uk, access to serviced which empower people are being cut . This has been happening for a considerable time now and in Sheffield which has been very fortunate in establishing and excellent network of advisory services providing people with help on lots of wefare related issues, It would be extremely damaging to cut funding for this well established service that provides essential assistance for people facing descrimiation. This has been done in the advice sector and as funding has generally got tighter over the years Sheffield city has a duty to continue to provide statuatory backing, less we forget the mcpherson report it dangerously appears that the age of diversity and equality as a main agenda is being flossed over. As a multi cultuaral city historically council should be emracing this not making it more difficult. The mapping of BME services advocacy and training in the north is an unfinished one which is very evident.

SREC provides a Vital service to people from all communities, there continued funding is necessary to allow them to help people like they did for me.
