I am away on a sabbatical at the moment and it causes much stress to think that Ken Wood might not be at Maidstone when i return in September. He has proved one of the most vital members of the team at Oakwood Park. Without his expertise, commitment and inspiration the campus will surely suffer. A human interface between technology, students and staff and a mine of information. Nothing ever too much trouble. I am reeling from this news.

While working as sessional Maya (CG animation) lecturer at UCA Maidstone I was impressed at how much value Ken was able to extract from very limited resources. A CG animation department–nowadays a mainstay of animation teaching–would rapidly collapse without consistent, knowledgeable and cool-headed technical support, and Ken Wood was instrumental in providing this. I sincerely hope he will be staying on.

Ken is the reason this university is open resource, all students from all areas coming together, he's the reason that Maidstone campus thrived on its resource aspect during the Ofsted inspection.
Kens moto.. "the technicians know thier jobs, better than me, so i listen to them, and we work together with staff and student wishes to cater for a better learning enviroment".
Ken is a man on the ground, a finger on the pulse of what the students and staff need.
