This is entirely inappropriate! So many are content to rip up and throw away all things symbolic, cultural and historically significant in the rude name of ‘progress’ and often for fiscal gain. Don’t ruin a wonderful piece of living British heritage! Saville Row is for bespoke garments of the highest quality from the most experienced and talented tailors in the world. It is not for mass produced scruffy casual wear. Don’t drag Saville Row down!

  3. Andrea Borsani UNITED KINGDOM

Absurd. Savile Row is not the place for A&F.

  7. Christopher Smith UNITED STATES

This would be a complete abomination of history, culture, and fashion.

Even to us across the pond, Savile Row, a soft-spoken cultural titan, remains one of few sites worth frequenting that endures, unabashed, in its historicity. To allow a company diametrically opposed to that culture, like Abercrombie and Fitch, to adulterate this icon, would be a huge step backward in the progress of civilization.

  9. David Koch UNITED STATES

Even in the United States, Savile Row is both an icon of a particular culture as well as an historical landmark. To allow Abercrombie & Fitch to place a store in that location would be completely out of step with the culture of Savile Row and would spoil an historical landmark. Even in the US, many of us feel that allowing Abercrombie & Fitch, a retailer of mass-produced “clothing”, to add a shop in a location that is known specifically for bespoke clothing would be a serious error and would ruin the value of the location. The move would be reduce its value for culture, for its historical significance, and for tourism.

Never, building an A & F on Savile Row is like establishing a Lambrini vineyard in the Champagne region of France. Out of place, taste and style.
