Save Shepherds Hill Pre School

As most of you are already aware there is a possibility that shepherds hill pre school will have to close it’s doors to many 2 and 3 year olds in the leys. Shepherds hill is currently the biggest provider of funded 2’s in the leys, also shepherds hill has always had a high number of children with sen because of the good reputation of the senco. The blackbird academy trust site of windale school has housed shepherds hill for around 8 years. In february 2014 shepherds hill was told that the lease they had for the buildings on the site of windale school would not be renewed at the end of august 2014. Shepherds hill were of the understanding that they would be given 12 months notice to vacate the premises as was stated in the contract, as this is not the case they are now faced with limited time to find a suitable new premises. Not only do they have limited time to find new premises other challenges need to be faced, this includes an ofsted re-registration period of up to 26 weeks if a suitable premises is found, therefore leaving children without an education setting until around late 2014 – early 2015

we are therefore asking that the blackbird academy trust renew the lease of the buildings at windale school until february 2015 to enable shepherds hill to find suitable premises and get the ofsted re-registration process complete
