It would be devastating to the beautiful village of Shelford and the surrounding area to proceed with the sand and gravel extraction being proposed. I am completely against this. I have many friends in the village itself and surrounding area who would be directly affected and am happy to put my name to this petition to vote against this plan.

Removal of sand and gravel would destroy one of the few R. Trent landscapes remaining. SandG extraction always leaves large tracts of water. Operations in such close proximity to the village would create enormous disturbance to the community.

This is a beautiful part of Nottinghamshire, with scenic views and clean air. Some people move here for health reasons. If gravel extraction takes place they will move awy for the same reasons, escaping the noise, disruption and dusty air.
