atheists are very angry!   why! The following is taken from the book: i never thought i’d see the day! By dr david jeremiah, turning point ministry. Atheists in the past had always taken a passive attitude in society but in recent years they are becoming very angry lots and they are apparently fighting back against a god they say do  not believe exists!   are atheists going barmy?   a person normally does not go on wasting his/her time and energy in trying to fight against something/someone he/she believes does not exist!   for example let us take unicorns, we believe they don’t exist, so because unicorns do not exist, noone is angry at them – becasue a person in their right mind does not get angry against someone or thing he or she believes does not exist.   (dr david jeremiah)
atheist’s yelling out anger at god:  “the god of the old testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all of fiction; jealous and proud of it, a petty unjust, unforgiving control freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynist, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential megalomaniacal, sadomasochist, capriciously malevolent bully. ” (dr david jeremiah)
a group of atheist’s intellectuals have arisen in the last five or six years that is being called the “new atheists. “  they have written a spate of new books bashing the idea of religion and defending an atheistic world view.   the irony of the angry tone exhibited by today’s leading atheists is that they seem to be angry at someone they profess not to believe in!   is that rational?   is that a good deence for their position? atheists are angry because their arrogance is diminishing them!   their own actions are making them look small in the eyes of observers! (dr david jeremiah)
atheists are losing their heads because their advocates are deserting them! Atheists set the agenda for modern atheism with a 1950 essay tiled “theology and falsification. ” it was widely read and repented and became a core document in the atheism movement.   author of more than 30 books he rocked the intellectual world with a 2007 book titled “there is a god. “  in this book he professed to having made a commitment to go wherever the evidence led – and the evidence led him to accept the existence of a creator god.   this was quite a shock to fellow atheists – especially many of the new atheists who had looked at flew as one of their standard bearers.   an associated press story about flew and his new book said, “philosophy professor who has been a leading champion of atheism for more than a half-century has changed his mind.   he now believes in god. “  he came to a scientific conclusion that atheism is not logically sustainable. An atheist renounced his faith and spent years mocking christianity.   he recently returned to faith – the reason, he said in an interview with the british magazen, new statesman, was that “atheists are missing out on some very basic experiences of life. “
an atheist, made the mistake of visiting christian aid workers in malawi, where he saw the power of the gospel transforming them and others.   concerned with what he saw, he wrote that ”confounds my ideological beliefs, stubbornly refuses to fit my worldview, and has embarrassed my growing belief that there is no god. “
another fromer atheist and is the brother of the outspoken new atheist.   a journalist and author of the 2010 book ”the rage against god. “  at the age of fifteen, he set fire to his bible on the playing field of his cambridge boarding school and set out on a life of denying the existence of god.   he attributes his return to faith to seeing godless socialism in practice during his years as a correspondent in the ussr.   in his book, he describes life as harsh and dangerours.   for example, in 1990 there were 6. 46 million abortions in the ussr and only 4. 85 million live births.   for the average citizen, life was “lived at a dismally low level materially, ethically and culturally. ” (dr david jeremiah)
atheists are angry because their arguments are dividing them! A key argurment of atheist is that religion is respoinsible for the most of the evil and pain in the history of the world.   atheists’ argument:  “the faults of the world are to be laid at the door of backward-looking superstitions which hold the world back from its rational and scientdfic destiny.   eliminate religion and the world will be a better place.   religion has led only to violence, intellectual dishonesty, oppression and social division. “  another atheist adds, “religions have given us stoning, witch-burnings, crusades, inquisitions… “
first, let’s agree with history: there have been terrible atrocities committed in the name of religion and, yes, in the name of christ.   but what has been done in the name of christianity has been blown vastly out of proportion as scholar dinesh de’souza’s documents in his book “what’s so great about christianity. “  focusing on three specific periods of history: the crusades, the spanish inquisition, and the salem witch trials.   d’souza gives us facts about the degree of suffering that actually occurred.   that is not to justify what was done in those periods.   but it is to put it in historical context and demonstrates how, compared to other similar atrocities and compared to the good christianity has accomplished.   those three events are not grounds for the new atheists’ blanket condemnation of relighion, christianity in particular. in his book “what’s so great about christianity” dinesh d’souza cites real facts to counter the atheists’ accusations.   he concentrates specifically on the crusades, the inquisistion, and the salem witch trials. (dr david jeremiah)
the crusades
according to the atheists, we are suppposedly responsible for the massacre of thousands.   d’souza reminds his readers that the crusades were an attempt on the par of christians to recover territory that had been taken from them by armed forces.   “in the context of the history of warfare, there is no warrant for considering the crusades a world historical crime of any sort.   the christians fought to defend themselves from foreign conquest, while the other armed froces fought to continue conquering christian lands. “  european christians had good reason to be concerned about foreign conquest.   armed forces had been turned back from conqueing what is now moder france in ad 732 at the battle of tours.   had the foreign froces won that battle, the entire history of western civilization would have been radically altered. the spanish inquisition
d’souza discovered that “the horrific images of the inquisistion are largely a myth concocted first by the political enemies of spain and later by the political enemies of religion. “  citing henry kmen’s book:  “the spanish inquisition: a historical revision” d’souza points out that the total number of people who were executed by roman catholic  inquisitors for heresy was approximately two thousand.   whilst this is not an insignifcant number, it is important to remember that these deaths occurred over a period of 350 years. the salem
the salem witch rials are the new atheists best example of religiosly motivated violence…   again, d’souza’s research provides correctives to the accepted critiacal view: “how many people were killed in those trials? Thousands? Hundreds? Actually, fewer than twenty-five.   nineteen were sentenced to death and a few others died in captivity. ” (dr david jeremiah)
atheists insist that christianity must accept blame for the few who misapply its truths.   this is no more logical that a professor being force to assume blame for the few who fail his course compare to the many who pass with flying colours. (dr david jeremiah)
atheists are angry because their adversaries are defeating them! Israeli scientist gerald schroeder’s point by point refutation of the ‘monkey theorem. ” this theorem asserts that life could have arisen by chance, using the analogy of a multitude of monkeys banging away on computer keyboards until the eventually write a shakespearean sonnet.   schroeder cites an experiement conducted by the british national council of arts: “a computer was placed in a cage with six monkeys.   after one month of hammering away at it… Even though the shorted word in the english language is one letter (a or i).   a is a word only if there is a space on either side of it. ” (dr david jeremiah)
so what are the chances of getting a shakespearean sonnet?   schroeder answered conclusively: “if you took the entire universe and coverted it to computer chips, forget the monkeys, each one weighing a millionth of a gram and had each computer chip able to spin out 488 trials at say, a million times a second; if you turn the entire universe into these mircrocomputer chips and these chips were spinning a million times a second (producing) random letters… You will never ge a sonnet by chance… “  yet the world just thinks the monkeys can do it every time. this is but one example of how the new atheist must rely on unproven or unprovable theorems to buttresss their claim that universe, life matter and intelligence arose from nothing.   someone wrote, any assertion at the universe came about without the agency of an intelligent first cause is flawed at its base. atheists are angry because their amnesia is discrediting them!  An Atheist wrote “there is not the smallest evidence… That atheism systematically influences people to do bad things in the name of atheism. “(dr david jeremiah)
really?   consider this research by disnesh d’zouza:
in a single century alone atheist regimes wiped out a staggering hundreds of millions of people!   stalin of russia, mao zedong of china, the khmer rouge of cambodia and under hitler’s atheistice name, the nazi and much more are responsible for millions of deaths. (wikipedia)
atheists have forgotten their world history!   tragedies that have occurred in the name of religion are miniscule comapared to those done in the name of atheism. (dr david jeremiah)
whatever the cause for why atheist regimes do what they do, the indisputable fact is that the religions of the world put together in three thousand years have not managed to kill anywhere near the number of people killed in the name of atheism in the past frew decades.   it’s time to abandon the mindlessly repeated mantra that religious belief has been the main source of human conflict and violence.   atheism, not religion, is responsible for the worst mass murders in history. atheists are angry because their assessment are deceiving them! Based on the best resarch, the number of atheists in the world is actually decreasing annually while the number of religious adherents is increasing.   (atheists) numbers have actually dropped over the past decaded, despite the caterwauling of some atheists.   one cluster of comaprative growth statistics is striking.   as of mid 2011, there will be an average of 80,000 new christians per day… But 300 fewer atheits every 24 hours. oxford and kings’s college (london) scholars summarizes it well: “atheist thinkers are more than happy to appear on the nations’s chat shows to promote their latest books.   but they have failed to communicate a compelling vision of atheism that is capable of drawing and holding large numbers. ” (dr david jeremiah)
it’s no wonder that one of the world’s most famous atheists, said near the end of his life, “nothing can penetrate the loneliness of the human heart except the highest intensity of the sort of love the relighous teachers have preached. ” (dr david jeremiah)
