Most people are aware of the asurd amounts of food that is wasted around the world daily. In the uk many shops and stores, will at the end of the day discard a large amount of food and products that are completely usable or edible. These are then taken away to be dumped and destroyed. This petition is to attempt to make a change that will actually be beneficial to people, it will stop the ridiculous levels of waste and more important than the environment will help save human lives. The uk alone has a staggering amount of homeless people and people who suffer from malnourishment and starvation, which is totally unacceptable anywhere on earth, but especially in this day in age. The goverment could easily set up a means of collecting and distributing the massive discarded stock of safe and edible food to people that need it the most in the uk and also set up some means of distributing it further afield. No one should suffer starvation, especially when it is such an easy ‘disease to cure’. The uk goverments main petition site have denied this petition on their page due to inaccurate and frivilious reasons. Please sign it here and hopefully, maybe if enough people care a change can occur that will actually save lives. Instead of talking, debating about things, we should unite and do them. If such a scheme was passed by the goverment, it would become an action, that if carried out and continued would make such an improvement to lives and the environment.
