We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to update the Social Housing Legislation so that Ex Service Personnel are given priority status on social housing lists whether injured or not. We believe that an ex member of the British Armed Forces who has either A: Served their 4 years of duty or B: been on an overseas operational tour of duty should be entitled to higher priority for social housing in recognition of their service to this country. Current legislation outlines that injured ex service personnel should be given priority status. but has no legislation in regards to ex service personnel who have managed to come home unscathed, they also deserve to be given priority for a home. British forces put their lives on the line on a daily basis. All we are asking for is the duty of care that's owed when they leave. Please sign our petition and together we can change the lives of those who sacrifice so much. feel free to leave a comment and please remember WE NEED FULL NAME ADDRESS AND EMAIL FOR YOUR SIGNATURE TO COUNT OTHERWISE THE GOVERNMENT WILL NOT ACCEPT IT! Thank you from

As an ex-service person access to priority social housing when i left the forces would have been beneficial at the time.

good luck with this, the services dont do enough to help people when leaving the forces, however i was lucky as sefton council give priority to service men and women when they are returning to there home town

    I fully back this 100%

Been an x service person that was homeless for 3 months after leaving the forces with a wife 7 two children- really did open my eyes to how the UK thanks their veterans. I had to fight tooth & nail to get a house 200 miles from where we wanted to be- this really effected my young children of 3 and 5 years old- If people really new what forces personnel and their family’s actually put up with.

Been married to an ex-service person that was homeless for 3 months after leaving the forces with two children- really did open my eyes to how the UK thanks their veterans. I had to fight tooth & nail to get a house hundreds of miles from where we wanted to be- this really effected my young children of 3 and 5 years old- If people really new what forces personnel and their family’s actually put up with.
