Marijuana has been criminalised and non-medicinal used made illegal in most of the world today. Making this into a regulated industry will have positive effects on the economy (revenue and tax), social factors (crime reduction etc), which outweigh the negative effects such as driving under the influence. The simple question is: if alcohol and tobacco are legal, why not marijuana? The creator of this petition has begun work on a SWOT and PESTLE analysis of this subject, taking arguments from both sides to ensure the analysis and paper being written is unbiased and I welcome scrutiny by anyone who wishes to do so.
