The chapel at leicester royal infirmary has stood since 1887 giving solace hope and quiet times to patients carers and staff. Staff have been married here, children baptised here and memorials undertaken to remember loved ones and colleagues. Memorials of colleagues and friends adorn the walls. The chief executive, board members and councillors want it pulled down to make way for an expanding a&e department. The chapel could be saved at the expense of 5 parking spaces. It is part of the history of the hospital that is being eroded away by beaurocrats who fail to see its purpose in peoples lives. This must not be allowed to happen
