We the undersigned ask that trading standards do a big investigation in to dsg international as they obviously don’t keep to things like the 28 day replacement and money back guarantee
for anyone that doesn’t know dsg international is “one of europe’s leading specialist electrical retailing groups” operating over 1,400 stores in 14 countries. Here in the uk, our businesses include currys, currys digital, pc world, and dixons group business services.
i myself in december 2006 bought an advent laptop off them from pc world which is their own make and with in 2 days it developed a fault and the l key wouldn’t work intermittently i took it back only for them to say “sorry sir we can’t replace it, we can’t see the fault and as you have taken it out the box and used it we wouldn’t be able to replace it anyway ”
and my friend
currys were supposed to be delivering a washing machine on christmas eve as we stressed the importance of getting it in and installed before christmas. We even paid far more than we would be able to get it for in the boxing day sales so they should have been making a great profit for just doing a little extra work. They turned up with it on saturday and discovered it was broken, a big hole in the side caused by a forklift in the warehouse, hadn’t even bothered to use the friday in between to check the product in the warehouse before delivering it. Their attitude was then that they’d come back on boxing day with another at the same huge presale price and we’d just have to wait. This wasn’t acceptable for us so they said they’d try to negotiate with distribution and get back to us on what they could do….. We waited in all day, no responce at all from currys. We finally went back today to express our dissatisfaction with their service and the best they could agree to was a refund on the debit card that would take 3 days to clear. Potentially another 3 days wasted waiting for a washing machine that should have been in and working 2 days ago. They had even marked the item returned with the reason “unwanted product”, couldn’t even admit that it was their mistake for delivering a machine with a hole in it you could throw a baseball through. They have been rude and unhelpful to us the whole way through, even snapping back at my father when he expressed the need for a reliable service from them because he’s disabled. From now on, none of our family and i hope nobody who reads this, will ever be shopping in currys or pc world again for as long as they remain associated to such a rude and poorly run company.
We the petition makers would like you to post your stories as well as signing the petition so that trading standards can read what a diabolical organisation dsgi plc really is
