We the undersigned are outraged at North Somerset Council’s proposal to:
“Delete all Youth Service posts”
We know how vulnerable young people can be. However, North Somerset Council is closing the service that is proven to work with significant success alongside them.
We are calling for the proposal’s immediate withdrawal.
Please consider the work being done especially among those with extra needs. What will they do ?
This is a short-sighted policy which will potentially create far more problems than it solves.
The youth of today are the entrepreneurs of tomorrow
Give young people a fighting chance to help themselves and the country out of recession.
It’s time to wake up and give the young people the chance they deserve to shine.
This is all the kids have and its only once a week. It needs to stay open, stop wasting money on repairing pavements in a cul-de-sac and keep providing the one thing our kids have.
Youth services are VITAL for the young people AND their families.
I know cuts need to be made, but this is such a short term plan, you will be letting down at least one generation of youth how will have not support or care outside of the school framework or home. The outcome of this is unthinkable!
It is very important that our young people have clubs and groups that they can go to.
