Dear OFCOM:
The United Kingdom has long been at the forefront of musical revolutions. We are a country responsible for such classic artists such as Led Zeppelin, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, up do modern acts such as Bullet for My Valentine, Funeral for a Friend and Skindred. However, if you look at the licensing that has been granted for radio stations, especially in the South of England, there are ZERO stations that cater for this genre of music. However, you will find multiple stations all catering for either dance or pop music, many of them indistinguishable from the next. This is unacceptable and we, the undersigned, demand that a license be granted for a National Rock/Metal Radio Station to be granted. As the recent Rage Against the Machine campaign proves, there are numerous people out there that listen to hard rock and metal music. As festivals such as Download, Sonisphere, Hard Rock Hell, etc., prove, you cannot ignore the popularity of this musical art form. However, up until now, if you wanted to listen to artists such as Led Zeppelin or Motorhead, you would have to rely purely on CDs/MP3s or Digital Radio. Please stop ignoring us and do the right thing.
Yours Sincerely
