The campaign for a referendum on the future of the House of Lords.

The primary purpose of The House of Lords is to scrutinize legislation proposed by the House of Commons.

As things stand, the future of Parliament's second chamber (the Lords) is going to be decided by the first chamber (the Commons). It's like the criminals deciding the make-up of the judiciary. Parliament belongs to the people; *we* should decide its future. To achieve this we must campaign for a referendum. Then we can have a proper debate and vote for the legislature that we want, rather than having their choice forced on us.

We, the people of the United Kingdom, demand our right to choose the future make-up of the House of Lords. We demand a referendum and enough time and opportunity for a full popular debate.

the house of lords is a undemocratic unelected body which has no place in the uk

  3. Bruce Smith

Who voted for any of this unelected bunch we have had foisted on to us, they were never elected. Reduce the numbers and let them fight for a seat by public election, better still just close the place down and save us some money that can be put to better use.
