Basfest 2011 has been cancelled due to cost cutting by the council.
We want to protest this decision by the council, so please suggest this page to all your friends and lets get a protest organised!
The decision will be made by the council on 17th February, and we hope to organise a demonstration on this date outside the Basildon council offices.
Surely Basfest should be making money for the council, so why are they cutting it? Why is the chief executive of Basildon Council paid more than the Prime Minister?!
Basildon Council has sold off countless amounts of land over the last year to pay for the new sports centre, which costs a lot more than Basfest.
This also affects other events, such as the Billericay Gala Weekend, Shakespeare in the Park (at The Wick) and the Watt Tyler Folk Festival.
