North Yorkshire County Council need to make savings on their budget. They have made a number of proposals one of which involves withdrawing funding for Starbeck library. The County Council is running a consultation to which you can respond using the link above. When funding is withdrawn the Council want local people to take over the running of the library but many people fear that this will just lead to closure.
Local MP, Andrew Jones is campaigning for the County Council to continue funding Starbeck library to ensure that it stays open for business. If you support the campaign to keep Starbeck library open please sign the petition.
