Melbury vale farm is a family home and multi-functional 28-acre specialist farm in dorset. Tourists, locals, and many groups, including the scouts, use it. It offers an inimitable mix of resources including, but not limited to:
an english native woodland, regenerated with much love and care by the current owners, with the help of the forestry commision. An extensive selection of wildlife. An alpaca sanctuary, for visiting, and/or husbandry experiences. Excellent horse livery facilities. A vineyard, producing award-winning dorset wine. And activity centre offering archery, paintball, mountain bike track, bridle paths, fire pit and zip wire. Camping with facilities and a holiday let. A “saw your own” sustainable christmas tree farm. According to defra: “the government believes that we need to protect the environment for future generations, make our economy more environmentally sustainable, and improve our quality of life and well-being. We also believe that much more needs to be done to support the farming industry, protect biodiversity and encourage sustainable food production. ”
one would imagine melbury vale farm very safely on the map, however… After ten years investing in the farm, the business owners are facing eviction. We, as a community must stand together to preserve this site by voicing our support for the farm as it stands, and signing to strongly object to its closure. Thank-you.
