A local group calling themselves "We Need A School.org" (WNAS) are running a campaign to build a LARGE school for approximately 800+ secondary school age children and staff in or around the village of Woolmer green.

So far there are 5 known proposed sites within Woolmer Green, Knebworth and the Datchworth area where they are trying to secure GREEN BELT LAND and build this new school.

Many consider Woolmer Green is far too small for the proposed size of this secondary school smack in the heart of this rural village.

HELP US STOP the building of a school in our village and sign the petition. The "We Need A School Group" have stated that if there is opposition again the school from residents they will drop the idea.

Please pass this on to anyone who may not know or be aware of what impact this school will have on Woolmer Green and the neighbouring villages.

It is clear that no thought has been given to the quality of life for those living in these villages. The roads around all sites can't support more traffic and if the WNAS committee really believe that children and staff will walk to school I would like to see the supporting evidence. I am totally
against the loss of greenbelt land for a construction we don't need. Use the upgraded Stevenage schools

The green belt around Knebworth, Woolmer Green and Datchworth should not be touched. The areas roads simply cannot cope at present, never mind with the extra traffic that a large secondary school would generate. Lastly, I've yet to see any convincing argument that this is in any way required, I therefore oppose it absolutely.

The local infrastructure will not cope with the volume of traffic etc generated by a secondary school. Stevenage and Welwyn schools are not over subscribed, rendering this proposed school unnecessary.

The the amount of traffic using the B197 has been an issue for many years. We do not need anymore.

How can you close Heathcote and consider building a new school. Where is the justification? Our greenbelt is precious; leave it alone!

What's the point of having protected green belt land when these people can come along and steal it from us! Also, I don't believe the roads will be able to coope with the extra traffic as it's bad enough as it is. Keep schools in towns and not in our beautiful countryside!

Such a school is completely out of place in this area. There are plenty of other secondary schools within easy reach and the money required to build a new school should be used to enhance those schools – not to build on Green Belt land.
