I am signing as Brent Green Party spokesperson for children and families and as chair of governors at Chalkhill Primary School and Braintcroft Primary. Our local libraries are vital for independent access by older primary pupils for the borrowing of books, study and internet access for those without it at home. Keep them ALL open.

  7. Dovey Edward Willesden UNITED KINGDOM

The assault on local libraries is simply appalling

  8. James Cracknell Leyton UNITED KINGDOM

  9. Renu Kaul Wembley UNITED KINGDOM

Please do not close our library at Barham Park. It is a life saver for most of us living in the area

  10. Corina Buckwell Lewes UNITED KINGDOM

Libraries are alive, well, relevant and thriving in Sussex, so why are you making such a mistake in Brent? Lewes invested in and opened a brand new larger library only 6 years ago, and Brighton in the last 10 years. The world clearly needs more libraries not less.

How can the council be considering closing Barham Park Library when they have only just spent £230,000 doing it up? I for one to not want to have to trek up to Wembley Park, paying £2.60 return on the bus to go to the library!

  15. Shane Mahoney Neasden UNITED KINGDOM
  16. Jean Gorman Wembley UNITED KINGDOM

These local libraries are a valuable resource. There are many children newly arrived in the community who need the easy access to books and computers that they do not have at home in order to fully access the school curriculum.

  17. David Baker Epsom

My daughter lives in Kensal Rise and uses the library. The library is a valuable local resource that is important to the community. It should stay that way.

  18. caitriona macloughlin london UNITED KINGDOM
  19. David Thomas London UNITED KINGDOM

Willesden Library Complex is the focal point of the area.

It has the potential to be a cultural venue for the residents of Brent. The cinema should be re-opened the Museum and Artists Resource be supported along with the now closed Cafe/Bar.

  20. Ruth Newman Kingsbury UNITED KINGDOM

Libraries are a sign of a democratic and enlightened society. Do not deprive us of them. Especially in areas of need. Libraries are more than just books, they are centres of learning and access points for vital information.
