For goodness sake let us try and keep something to say we were once a military power and that the Royal Navy was a power to be reckoned with.

Saw her in Plymouth where she belongs.

  4. Andrew Jago UNITED KINGDOM

Wake up Plymouth, bring HMS Plymouth home where she belongs!

  5. K Godkin UNITED KINGDOM

It makes no sense that HMS Plymouth cannot be birthed in her hometown…there are SO MANY places here for her.

  6. Chris Clark UNITED KINGDOM

Aside from the almost £5m for the life centre, thecouncil is spending £60,000 on a few pots of paint for Smeatons tower!!!!! yet they cant find £50,000 for a part of our history? What is the matter with this council??!

My hat goes off to you for starting this petition, and I for one will happily donate to a fund to buy her; Wanted by Plymouth People, Paid for By Plymouth People, Enjoyed by Thousands. HMS Intrepid and Fearless were both scrapped; please please please lets not allow another peice of history die. This ship would not only be a tourist attraction but a vital memorial to the Hundreds that died in the South Atlantic 30 years ago.

HMS Plymouth is a very important ship to the history of Devonport dockyard, and so should be saved from the humiliation of being sent Turkey to be scrapped, it should be returned to its spiritual home of Pymouth !

recently visited the IWM North at Salford Quays on the Manchester ship canal, loads of empty berthing space and an ideal spot to gain visitors and show off this historic vessel.
