While there are aspects of this development that are of merit – i.e. the improved bus station and new rail station – the reality is that far too many people will travel into the area by car. Whilst the transport infrastructure is being improved in the area, the developers need to work more closely with other partners who are pushing for an orbital tram route via Brent Cross that would mitigate traffic increase and may even reduce dependence on the private car in the West / North London area. Non-radial routes in this area are non-existing, and those that exist are only bus-based that have to compete with the gridlock caused by incessant and excessive car use. Please include the Tram as a pre-requisite before looking at any major new development at Brent Cross. If you build it, they will come. If you build a tram, they will come too. It can be done. We just need to be bold. Now is the time for bravery.

I agree that the sustainability elements of this scheme have not been adequately considered and am strongly supportive of the North West London Light Railway proposal.

the plan is just causing more chaos in the area. Once again it is profit that Barnet council is only considering and nothing else. Shame on them

  10. David Gutmann Finchley UNITED KINGDOM

Wholly inappropriate and damaging – too much traffic increase and pollution!

Call the Brent Cross developement in for public enquiry

  18. Jim Gatten Cricklewood UNITED KINGDOM

Above all the local roads simply will not sustain the level of newly generated traffic passing through; well-known local congestion spots will grind to a halt, damaging the quality of life of existing residents.

  20. Norma Filippini London UNITED KINGDOM

I agree with the above and feel it important that sufficient detail be put forward for the Council to make and informed decision.
