For the weather in this country, we trust the Met Office, our local institution with years of expertise and innovation.
Too much in this country is being hived off to foreign supply and ownership, which will actually leave us so much poorer, its not just about saving money.

  2. L.Taylor UNITED KINGDOM

The forecast from the Met office is the most accurate, why do we need an inferior supplier? The weather forecast from the BBC is always informative, why change it?

The UK Met Office SHOULD be the ONLY source of local and national weather forecasts for the UK

The Met Office provide excellent national & local forecasts to the UK

  12. Stephen Andrews UNITED KINGDOM

We need UK’s weather supplied from the UK by experienced forecasters in the UK, they do an excellent job. With the variable conditions in the UK we need this expertise.
“If it isn’t broke why fix it”

  13. Sarah Hester UNITED STATES

Why change something that’s worked for ever; the MET office are the best source of weather forecasting for the UK

  14. Adam Tansley UNITED STATES

The Met office is better than its competitors and should be supported.

  15. Janice Richardson UNITED KINGDOM

It isn’t broke – don’t try to fix it.
There is no good reason to move an excellent British service, second to none to an unproven but necessarily (since the current one IS second to none), an inferior one.

  16. Brenda Oates UNITED KINGDOM

The BBC provide wonderful daily weather forecasts from within the United Kingdom which are delivered in a clear & understandable manner. The regional forecasts are particularly valuable. Nobody else will do it better & they deserve to keep their weather contract with the Met Office.

  17. Hilary Hillier

The Met. Office is a jewel in the UK’s crown. Let’s not see another of our fabulous institutions dealt a heavy blow.

  18. Hilary Southall UNITED KINGDOM

Maintain the excellent independent forecasting by safeguarding the BBC’s contract with the Met Office.

  19. Gillian Gillanders UNITED KINGDOM

Both the Met Office and the BBC are publicly funded; renewing the Met Office’s contract provides better value for money from the point of view of UK taxpayers than the BBC buying the service from an overseas supplier

  20. Marion Kenworthy UNITED KINGDOM
